Tim Lorenz is an Army veteran, Critical Care Transport RN, and Critical Care Paramedic with nearly three decades of civilian EMS experience.
He began his medical career in 2000 as a U.S. Army Combat Medic, earning his EMT-Basic certification during his service. After transitioning to civilian life, Tim entered EMS in 2006 as a first responder and became a paramedic in 2008. His career has since spanned emergency medical services, hospital-based care, and critical care and flight transport.
As Program Director and public-facing lead for IronStar, Tim guides program development, outreach, and engagement with agencies and responder communities. His background across military medicine, civilian EMS, and nursing provides a dual perspective on the operational realities responders face and the organizational structures that support them.
Tim brings field credibility, cultural fluency, and real-world experience to IronStar’s mission of helping agencies build durable peer support and leadership education from the ground up.

For years, Nikki has worked alongside first responders and public safety professionals, first in the medical field and then transitioning to mental health. She has seen firsthand the gap between what agencies are expected to provide and the resources they are given to support their personnel. IronStar was created to help close that gap by building structured, sustainable peer support and leadership education grounded in real-world operational demands.
As Clinical Director, Nikki ensures that IronStar programming reflects current research on cumulative exposure, critical incident impact, and organizational response while remaining practical, culturally aligned, and usable in the field. Her role focuses on translating complex research into clear, actionable education for agencies and leadership teams.
Nikki lives in rural Wisconsin with her family and spends as much time as possible outdoors hunting, fishing, trail running, and training her three German Shorthaired Pointers.
